Causes dark circles under eye

People believe that under eye dark circles are generally caused due to life style issues; in reality, under eye dark circles are not the result of mere wrong lifestyle or stress or anxiety factors but some other factors also.
However, it is good to know the reasons of under dark circles because unless we know the factors we cannot treat the issue efficiently.

Under eye dark circles can be a hereditary problem. If there is a family history of under eye dark circles, there is fair chance that their progeny can suffer from the same problem. This problem of dark circle gets more visible with transparent skin tone; however, it is needless to mention that transparent skin is mostly inherited skin qualities.

Over exposure under sunlight is one of the main reasons for having the problem of under eye dark skin; this problem of under eye dark skin is seen in case of both fair and dark complexioned people. The problem of pigmentation causes the problem of under eye dark circles. It occurs mostly under eye area because under eye area skin is too sensitive and causes more pigmentation under sun exposure.

Allergies and eczema are the other reasons for formation of under eye dark circles. People suffering from food allergy and hey fever suffer more from under eye dark circle due to same reason.

Continuous fatigue and sleeplessness may cause strain on eye, which causes paleness of skin tone in under eye area. Thus the blood-flow under the skin tone becomes visible and the darkness of skin tone gets intensified.

With ascending age and due to sagging skin, dark circles under the eye become permanent and  prominent; those who have eye bags at under-eye- zone, the dark circles in this area becomes more visible.

As the side effect of some medication, blood vessels in dilated condition forms dark circles. Women may face the problem of under eye dark circle at the time of menstrual cycle as well as at the time of pregnancy.
