Bleeding Between Two Menstrual Periods [Metrorrhagia]

Bleeding or spotting in between two periods are not only annoying it seems to be frightening enough. It may be the situation that you are facing this problem all on a sudden or this is the second or third time repetition of the spotting in between two menstrual periods. Medically this problem is termed as metrorrhagia and it is a frustrating and unpredictable female health disorder.
Normal menstruation cycle remains active for maximum 5 days and during this time blood gets wastage remains amounting to 2-8 tablespoon full. In case of normal menstruation period the gap between two periods remains ideally 28 days, however 35 days or 25 day gaping is also considered normal in case of menstruation cycle in a woman.
Whenever there will be a spotting in your undergarment, you need to report it to your doctor for an immediate consultation and detail clinical investigation to determine the proper place wherefrom the bleeding is coming.
Before diagnosis of metrohhagia is made the doctor needs to sure if the bleeding is not coming from rectum or from urinary track due to urinary track infection.
Although there are many recurrent possibilities about causes for this kind of bleeding some of the known causes of this problem are stress, due to a history of abortion, hypothyroid, injury to vagina or to vaginal track, consumption of medicines of anticoagulants, dryness in vagina, malignant cancer, and unrecognized vaginal infections.
Metrorrhagia may be originated as side effect of some medications like oral contraceptives courses.
This problem needs detail clinical investigation for exact diagnosis of the undefined reason behind the problem of metrorrhagia. While complete bed rest is a general advise, the affected patient needs to visit doctor’s place at the earliest to avert the complexity of the situation.
