Our hectic life style hardly permits us to eat in a relaxed way. On the other hand the tendency to multitasking, which is rather integral part of our activity schedule, curtails our time to eat slowly. We tend to eat fast so as to make up the back logging jobs and to get some more time to concentrate either in our computer or to do other domestic works.

But there are several benefits for slow eating especially while we are conscious about our body weight maintenance and prevention of aging process. Slow eating habit facilitates the healthy digestive system and cures the ailment like heartburn. Here the benefits of slow eating have been summarized for crisp discussion sake.

The slow habit of eating promotes better digestion and keeps digestive system active and in its own course. When a person eats slowly, he enjoys his food better and chews food properly which aids in proper digestion.

While you are eating your food in tearing hurry, you have no scope to enjoy the food taste or the food quality. While consuming food in a relaxed way, you will be able to enjoy your food, taste, and quality and it will give your better satisfaction which helps in better digestion in a passive way.

Our brain can sense the fullness of stomach after 20 min of its actual occurrence. By this time we tend to consume more food than our requirement and tend to consume more calorie than our actual requirement, which results in extra fat in our body. Slow eating arrest the signal of brain with proper effect thus can regulate weight gain process in a better way.

While eating slowly you will able to be conscious about the quality and flavor of food, and at the same time the relaxed eating can indulge in some pleasant thought processing which works like a mental refreshment. This is good for revitalization of brain cells and it increases work out put.

Ultimately eating slowly is a healthy habit but slow is not synonymous with prolong eating, this may not adjust with our present modality of life.
