Baby colics- best herbal cures

Baby colic is an extremely stressful medical condition that the infants face which in general starts as early as second or third week after birth. In this period, the baby cries or screams at rapid intervals and for a long period of time. During this period the baby appears to be irritated and cries excessively in an unexplainable pattern although he might otherwise be healthy.

During this period, the parents feel extremely frustrated and guilty as they find themselves unable to calm the babies. Sometimes, this endless crying can cause sleepless night which might end up among most people to loose their minds.

There are a lot of causes for baby colic.

Gas problems, digestive system problem, too much or too little food, food allergies, stress etc are some of the causes. However herbs have proved to be extremely useful in calming down colicky babies.

Chamomile: This herb is extremely beneficial for the babies who are suffering from colic pain. Chamomile tea has been found to be enormously helpful for babies who are suffering from colic pain. Warm up some amount of chamomile tea and give the baby one or two spoonfuls of the same. It works like miracles and helps in the calming of the baby. Again warm chamomile compress on the stomach area also helps in the calming down of the baby having colic pain.

Catnip: This herb is popular among individuals all over the globe for its ability to calm down the babies suffering from colic pain. Take one glass of water and boil it. After that, place both the catnip and the chamomile tea in the tea ball so as to prevent the herbs from mixing with the tea. After steeping the herbs in the boiled water for about 10 minutes, the tea will be ready.

The mix half cup of the tea with equal amount of water and shake it totally so as to blend it together. Then cool the tea to room temperature and give it to the baby. The colic pain will subside and this will allow both the baby and the mother to take good rest.
