6 Home Remedies For Diverticular Disease
Diverticulosis or diverticular disease is the name given to development of diverticula (small pouches) in the colon. This occurs when the large intestine’s inner lining exerts pressure on the weak spots of the colon’s outer lining.
Although the cause of diverticulosis is still unknown, it can be associated with old age, lack of physical exercise and a diet very low in fiber content. Diverticular pouches create inconvenience when food items or waste materials get stuck in there.
There is wide variance in the severity of diverticulosis. It can remain as mild infection or even call for a surgery.
